Hi, everyone!
First of all, I'd like to thank those of you were kind enough as to set up this wiki, which I've found most fun! Then, let me tell you that I am completely hooked up with the current story line with our much beloved Olliver and Christian, mostly for the same reasons some of you have discussed in other threads. Last week, I was just happy to learn that Gregor, Christian's brother, expressed his acceptance of the boys' relationhip, and even encouraged Christian to keep on working on his career in boxing. I hope all gay guys and girls have such accepting, tolerant and caring relatives! Since I watch the appearances of the two characters in YouTube, I always read the comments left there by people from all over the world, and the interaction which takes place at such forums is quite interesting since it reveals a lot of the culture of origin of the 'Ollian' fans. For example, lots of American viewers mention permanently the fact that their TV programs are not given enough artistic freedom, for which producers end up portraying unrealistic and uninteresting stories; viewers sometimes provide the now classic instance of 'As the World Turns', show in which the characters, Luke and Noah, have co-existed without even kissing in months! In Latin America - I'm from Venezuela - the situation seems to be pretty much the same: gay characters are hardly ever portrayed in open TV, and when they are, such portrayal is incredibly censored. In my country, particularly, gay characters have ALWAYS been portrayed in a satyrical fashion, that is, they are always made fun of, which is quite upsetting. How is it like in your country? By the way, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the charitative soul of our very own Nanna (AKA 'Ichlotzutube'), from Germany, for making the great effort of translating the segments of the show in which our boys appear. It's funny that she is talking to Christian like you would a girlfriend or a gay guy friend and Christian hasn't come out yet!... Maybe she has a good gaydar, afterall she hinted that Christian is gay when she had dinner that one night and Christian burned his hand.

I am fairly new to the Ollian experience, and am enjoying it quite a lot. I am currently watching a US Soap where the gay couple isn't showing much more than hugs at the moment. The discrimination is all too apparent especially when compared to other couples on the show. Obviously they are kissing and in their recent sex seen they have a shirtless beginning and post coitus cuddling. How does that compare with how the sex scenes of the straight couples presented?

Hello everyone! I've noticed that some of the most active and vocal fans of our boys are of the female persuasion, and I'm very curious to ask what draws you to the Chrolli / Ollian saga. As a gay man, I love being able to see the stories of my community portrayed so well--with some actual passion and playfulness, and without the bloody censorship that plagues queer storylines in North America (and, OK, seeing two beautiful men gettin' frisky on a regular basis is also a powerful draw!). What about you women though? If it's not too impertinent a question, what is it you ladies like about the boys and their story?

I just discovered VL recently through AfterElton.com and I fell in love the Christian and Olli s/l. It is so well written and the actors are wonderful. I'm not sure about the new s/l with the boxing promoter, but any story that keeps this great s/l showing is great.

Monday's episode was really good. I liked Olli running to open the door and trying to act normal and totally not succeeding.
I loved Christian's talk with Judith. I am sure she will do some covering for them at some point. And Olli's expression when Christian kissed him, oh so sweet.

Hello again everyone!
I was just reflecting on the comments I've seen regarding Olli and Christian as role models for young gay and bisexual men. I think the majority opinion I've seen is that they're extremely positive models, and that it's a very important thing for these characters to be available for young people just coming to terms with (or, hopefully embracing!) their sexuality. I also recently read an academic article by a sociologist who argued that young queer people who grow up without positive role models tend to be more likely to adhere to the negative social stereotypes that are out there about us (at least until they make contact with the community and see what real live G/L/B/T/Q people are like). What do you all think? Are Olli and Christian positive role models? Could they be even better? On a related note, I wonder about the role models those of us no longer in the "youth" category had when we were growing up. Did you have any at all, and if yes, who? I'd have to say the only really positive one I remember was Svend Robinson, Canada's first openly gay Member of Parliament. He was a very smart, quick-witted (and quite handsome) lawyer; a member of the NDP (our democratic socialist party); and always an outspoken champion of human rights and other important, progressive causes. Sadly, his political career was ended (or at least put on hold) by a scandal ( :( ), but I'll always be grateful to him for the inspiration he gave me back then. What about everyone else?

I was just thinking of some questions to ask Jo in his upcoming interview, and wondered if my fellow forumites could help me with some background information.
First, I've read that Jo is openly gay. Is this true, and is it OK for us to go there with our questions? Also, having never been to Germany, I was wondering what social conditions and the overall level of acceptance are like for gay men there, and particularly youths in elementary and secondary schools. Can anyone tell me? Thanks very much for your help! Rob

I am sooooooooooo looking forward to watching this episode! To see Christian unable to control his jealousy, and I think Oli will then know for sure that Christian has feeling for him. One week seems like such a long time to wait!

Am I the only one who cried when Olli was standing at the door? The second Christian unlocked it, tears ran down my face. Did you notice that as soon as Ollie put his hand on Christian's shoulder he completely melted. Man. Thor sure has the emotions down to the T.
